Well, the day finally came and I got the call from the post office that my chicks were ready to be picked up.
As many of you know, homesteading is not cheap! Everything has an expense, especially when you are starting from scratch! I have been spending my time making lists and plans, then changing plans and rewriting lists. I was getting overwhelmed and depressed at all the things that I wanted to accomplish. However, I was reminded by my husband that we can't do everything all at once. First of all, we don't have the time and second of all, we are not millionaires!

Am I doing enough, I was thinking to myself as I scrolled through posts on a homeschooling group on Facebook. Everyone is asking about curriculum and planning field trips. People were discussing units they were working on and asking if anyone wants to join their learning groups.
Unschooling? What the heck is that? Is it when you decided your child is no longer going to school? Are they not going to learn anymore? Has everyone given up? No, none of these could be farther than the truth.
As some of you may know, due to a possible move, I did not start a spring garden this year. This has freed up some time in my social calendar, not that I really have a social life. With all this new found time I decided to learn some new skills. I decided I wanted... Continue Reading →

Today started like every other weekday this summer. I woke up, made coffee, walked the dog and turned on my computer. I was getting things accomplished and working very productively. Because I said so, was the most hated statement said by my parents when I was growing up. I used to get so angry when they would utter those words.
