5 Time Saving Grocery Shopping Tips

1. What’s for Dinner?

Pick out 7 dinners you are going to cook (or more depending on how often you shop). Sit down and come up with a plan for the week and what you are going to cook each night. Determine what nights you have activities and aren’t going to have a lot of time to cook an elaborate meal. Can you put something in the crock pot that day and have it all ready when you get home? If there is a night when practice is going to run late? Why not make something a head of time and pack or something frozen that you can pop in the oven quickly.

2. Make a list of everything you need

I use the ”Any List ” App that I downloaded for free to keep track of my shopping lists. I add all the ingredients I need for dinner, snacks for the kids, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, etc. Anything I need I can add to my grocery shopping list on the App.

3. Be prepared at the store

Know what you are going to buy and where each item is in the store. Again the “Any List” app breaks this all down for me. The App separates my items by category-dairy, soups, dry goods, pet supplies, cleaning supplies, etc. It makes navigating through the grocery store super quick

4. Separate your items at the check out

When I am putting my items on the conveyor belt during check out, I separate the items by where they are put away at home. So, all my fridge items go together on the belt. Then I separate the items that go in the freezer and the pantry. That way when I get home I can take a bag and stay in one area and empty it.

5. Use reusable bags

Not only is this better for the environment, but it is a lot easier when you are loading and unloading the car. I find that when I use plastic bags I have so many bags and it takes forever to put them all in the car. Not to mention the several trips to empty the car. However, when I use reusable bags the clerk fits more items in each one, so I have way fewer bags. Loading and unloading the groceries takes half the time.

If you want more information about the “Any List” App I did a brief video on how I use it to save time at the grocery store.

*This is not sponsored in anyway by “Any List”. I just wanted to share it with everyone because it helps me so much every week!
